The line between crypto exchanges and traditional financial markets is getting harder to see. On September 1, Binance launched options on more than 1,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs for eligible users outside the United States. But the more interesting part isn't simply the number of assets. It's how the contracts are structured. Binance is connected to the actual shares Binance's options are physically settled . That means exercising an option can result in the underlying stock or ETF shares being delivered rather than simply paying the trader the difference in price. The infrastructure behind the product is also tied directly to traditional securities markets. Binance's ADGM-regulated broker, Nest Trading Limited, routes orders to Alpaca Securities , which handles execution, clearing, settlement and custody. Hyperliquid Is Finally Finding a Route Into the U.S.

Hyperliquid has spent years building one of crypto's biggest derivatives markets outside the United States. Now, it may finally have a way in. Hyperliquid Labs is reportedly in advanced talks with Payward, the parent company of Kraken , to bring selected Hyperliquid perpetual futures to U.S. traders through Bitnomial , Payward's CFTC-regulated derivatives exchange. Payward has already presented the proposed structure to the CFTC, although approval is still pending. This wouldn't mean Americans suddenly get direct access to Hyperliquid. Instead, Bitnomial would provide the regulated U.S. infrastructure while connecting traders to a limited selection of markets linked to Hyperliquid. That's an important distinction. Why this matters Hyperliquid has become a major force in crypto derivatives, but its offshore structure has kept U.S. traders out.
