Five years ago, NVIDIA was already a major technology company. It wasn't some unknown company waiting to be discovered. Yet, according to Fidelity's February 2026 comparison, NVIDIA's five-year return was about 1,369% . Over the same period, Alphabet returned about 208%, Meta about 157%, Apple about 127%, and Tesla about 84%. A hypothetical $100 investment in NVIDIA at the beginning of that measurement period would have grown to roughly $1,469 , before taxes and fees. And that's where hindsight becomes dangerous.
