What to Do When a Coin Drops 20% in a Day
Your Coin Just Dropped 20% Today ðŸ˜ðŸ“‰
Congratulations. You're Having A Normal Crypto Experience.
Every crypto investor eventually experiences this moment.
You open your app.
Everything was fine yesterday.
Then today:
-20% ðŸ˜ðŸ’€
Suddenly everybody becomes a market expert.
Twitter is screaming.
YouTube thumbnails are predicting civilization collapse.
Random influencers are posting:
"THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING 🚨"
Your heart rate doubles.
Your brain starts whispering:
"SELL NOW ðŸ˜"
Before doing anything stupid, run this three-step survival checklist.
Step 1: Check What Actually Happened 📰
Not opinions.
Not influencers.
Not people drawing triangles on charts.
Find the ACTUAL news.
Ask:
- Was there a hack?
- Was there a major regulatory announcement?
- Did the project itself break?
- Is the whole crypto market falling?
Because a 20% drop caused by panic is very different from a 20% drop caused by a genuine disaster.
A shocking amount of crypto panic comes from people reacting before they even know why the price moved.
Step 2: Check Your Position Size 👀
This is where things get uncomfortable.
Ask yourself:
"Why does this drop feel so painful?"
Sometimes the answer is:
"Because I invested way too much." ðŸ˜
If a normal market move is causing:
- panic,
- loss of sleep,
- emotional breakdowns,
- constant chart checking,
you may have a position that's too large for your risk tolerance.
The market didn't expose your coin.
It exposed your position size 💀
Step 3: Ask The Most Boring Question In Finance
Ready?
"What if I do absolutely nothing?" 😳
Nobody wants to hear this.
People want action.
Buying. Selling. Panic. Heroic decisions.
But sometimes the highest-IQ move is:
nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
Sit on your hands.
Go outside.
Touch grass.
Let new information arrive.
The Market Loves Emotional Investors ðŸ˜
Because emotional investors are predictable.
They:
- buy after excitement,
- sell after fear,
- chase rallies,
- panic during crashes.
The market has been collecting money from this behavior for decades.
A Red Candle Is Not Automatically A Crisis 👀
Crypto moves violently.
That's the deal.
A stock falling 20% in a day is usually huge news.
A crypto coin falling 20%?
Sometimes that's just Tuesday ðŸ˜
Your Biggest Enemy Isn't Volatility
It's urgency.
The feeling that:
"I must do SOMETHING right now."
That feeling has emptied countless portfolios.
Before making any decision:
✅ Check the news
✅ Check your position size
✅ Decide if doing nothing is the smartest move
Because not every price drop deserves a reaction.
Sometimes the market is just being the market ðŸ˜ðŸ’¸
