The Makers, the Watchers, and the Confused: Which One Are You?

Take a look around.

Every day, people are launching businesses, creating videos, building apps, writing books, learning new skills, and chasing big dreams.

At the same time, millions of others are watching them do it.

And then there are those who want to start something but don't know where to begin.

In many ways, most of us fall into one of three groups: the Makers, the Watchers, and the Confused.

The Makers

Makers are people who take action.

They don't always have the best ideas or the most money.

They simply start.

A maker might launch a small business, upload their first YouTube video, build an app, learn a new skill, or invest their first ₦10,000.

They know they won't get everything right.

But they also know they'll never make progress if they don't begin.

Every successful company, invention, or career started because someone decided to make something.

The Watchers

Watchers enjoy seeing other people succeed.

They follow entrepreneurs on social media.

They watch interviews with billionaires.

They save motivational videos.

They read about successful people.

There is nothing wrong with learning from others.

The problem begins when watching replaces doing.

A person can spend years learning how to start a business without ever starting one.

Knowledge is valuable, but only when it leads to action.

The Confused

The Confused are different.

They want to move forward.

They just don't know which direction to take.

One day they want to become a software engineer.

The next day they want to trade cryptocurrency.

A week later they want to start a clothing brand.

They're not lazy.

They're overwhelmed.

With so many opportunities online, choosing one path can feel impossible.

The Truth Is, We Move Between All Three

Very few people stay in one group forever.

You might be a Maker in your career but a Watcher when it comes to investing.

You might feel Confused about your future but confident in your studies.

These groups aren't labels.

They're moments.

The important question isn't where you've been.

It's where you are today.

Becoming a Maker

You don't become a Maker by having the perfect plan.

You become one by taking the first step.

That step might be small.

Read one book.

Take one online course.

Write your first article.

Start saving money.

Launch your first project.

You don't need to know everything before you begin.

You'll learn more by doing than by waiting.

So, Which One Are You?

Everyone starts somewhere.

Some people are building.

Some are watching.

Some are still trying to figure things out.

The good news is that none of these positions are permanent.

The moment you decide to take action—even if it's just one small step—you stop being someone who only watches life happen and become someone who starts shaping it.
